Lunch with My Brother’s Keeper

Corey Soto

On Oct. 11, Lanier High School kicked off  My Brother’s Keeper (MBK), a mentorship program created by the administration of  U.S. President Barack Obama. The program is targeted to reduce chronic absenteeism with freshman students. Lanier is one of the  Texas schools selected to champion this initiative . As part of the event, about 60 students participated. They enjoyed food, music, treats, and time building a connection with their mentors.  A special thank you to all the staff who helped organize this event and, of course, to the dedicated teachers who signed up to mentor a lucky student.
