Who’s Got Spirit?

The Lanier Vikings kicked off our 2016 Homecoming Game with an esoteric pep rally with the majority of the school joining in a supportive gathering to hype up the crowd. The Vikettes did their famous kick-line and our cheerleaders prepped everyone with the spirit chant seeing who could cheer the loudest, while giving away free viking t-shirts to the side of the gym who showed the most spirit. History was made in the gym where our very own quarterback (captain)  Jacob Earl Harding Grant, took time and energy to say a few important words. As the tension built waiting to hear what he had to say on this important day of September 9th, 2016, the mic was passed and he said confidently “No more talking, ALL ACTION!” As the Pep Rally came to an end the student body and staff began to jump up and down as the band performed our spirit dance song. The entire gym joined in a circle to sing our honorary school song and to send off the Vikings for the 2016 Homecoming Football Game. Later that night, the Sidney Lanier Varsity Football team took home the win against the Eastside Memorial Team. Guess our Vikings showed who really had the spirit.
